We shared the following categories of personal information with third parties for a business purpose in the 12 months prior to the date of this Policy: personal identifiers, financial information, and internet or other electronic activity information.

We work with and share these categories of personal information to third parties who provide services such as creating and populating online advocacy forms, website hosting, emailing, order processing and fulfilment, payment processing, credit card clearance, data analysis and analytics, and we share your personal information with these parties for such purposes (and obtain your consent where required under applicable law). We may also work with and share these categories of personal information to such third parties to provide administrative and other professional services such as legal, IT and accounting services.

We may provide such third parties with the categories of your personal information noted above as required to support their services to the Center or to comply with applicable law. We may also share your personal information with third-parties that support our advertising and marketing practices which is interpreted as a “sale” under certain U.S. state privacy laws. You can read more about those sharing, including how they support our fundraising efforts, and your rights to opt-out, below.

Third-Party Functionality

Our Site contains links to other websites operated by third parties. For example, when you make online donations to us or request one of our print publications to be mailed rather than downloading or printing the electronic version of that publication, you will link to a third-party website through our Site. Such third parties may collect information about you, through cookies or other technologies, when you link to their websites through our Site. We recommend that you review the privacy policies of such third parties to understand how they collect and use information.

Cookies

Cookies are small text files that are transferred to and, if allowed, stored on your computer or mobile device to improve the functioning of the Site and improve your user experience when visiting the Site. Our Site uses two types of cookies, session and persistent cookies. Session cookies are temporary cookies which remain on your computer or mobile device until you leave the Site. Persistent cookies remain on your computer or mobile device for longer periods or until you manually delete the cookie (how long persistent cookies remain on your computer or mobile device will depend on the duration or “lifespan” of the specific cookie and your browser setting). You can find more information about our cookie usage and the options available to you by reviewing our Cookie Policy.

Interest-Based Advertising Practices

We may use third-party services, including but not limited to the Meta Pixel, to address advertisements or other content that may be of interest to you when you access and use our website (although we do not use cookies, pixels or other trackers to collect or share consumer health or other sensitive personal information). Our third-party service partners may place or recognize a unique Cookie on your browser (including through use of pixel tags). They may also use these technologies, along with your Mobile Advertising ID and information they collect about your online use, to recognize you across the devices you use, such as a mobile phone or a laptop. These third-parties allow us to deliver advertisements or other content on our Site or other websites tailored to match the perceived interests of you, the Site visitor. These practices are known as interest-based advertising, or online behavioral advertising. We endeavor in good faith to adhere to self-regulatory advertising principles, such as the Digital Advertising Alliance’s Principles. If you are interested in learning more about and/or opting out of interest-based advertising, we encourage you to visit one of the advertising industry-developed opt-out pages, such as www.youradchoices.com or aboutads.info. Please note that while we provide these links for your convenience, we do not have access to, or control over, these third parties’ use of cookies or other tracking technologies where they already have access to your information. You may, at any time, choose to opt out on a going forward basis of sharing your information for the purpose of renting or exchanging with unaffiliated third-party organizations by emailing us at [email protected].
